Budapest. Marko Raat on a film festival

18.11.2005

The French Institute in Budapest, the Film Foundation GAN and the insurance company Goupama organise the "Young Directors Film Festival" from 18 to 23 November.
The cultural institutes and embassies of European countries in Budapest each present a film by a director under 35 years of age at the festival. According to the entry requirements, films must have been successful in the director’s home country and should not be older than five years.
Besides screenings, the directors will participate in a round-table discussion in Budapest on 21 November, where the young directors will talk about the funding and opportunities for and problems with film-making in the respective countries.
The discussion takes place in the Theatre and Film University and local students will also participate in the round table. Pál Sándor, a well-known Hungarian director, acts as the patron of the programme.
Marko Raat will represent Estonian at the festival with his stylish spy flick "Agent Wild Duck" (2002). His participation is made possible with the help of the Estonian Institute.
