Jõhvi. Virge Jõekalda’s graphic art in the Estonian Oil-shale gallery

08.05.2006

Since 8 May the art gallery in the main building of Estonian Oil-shale company displays the works of Virge Jõekalda.
Critics have described Virge Jõekalda’s dry point works as feminine, her prints have few images, often displaying only one or two, with a limited choice of colours — her prints only have red and black. Dry point technique enables to have very thin lines, evident in the current works.
The exhibition at the gallery, previously on show in February-March in Salzburg, hometown of Mozart, will stay open until 1 June, and then travels on to Portugal.
