13.04.2007

In the framework of the Budapest 14th International Book Festival (12- 15 April), the European First Novel Festival will be held for the seventh time.
Among young emerging authors from different countries who introduce their works at the festival, Vahur Afanasjev represents Estonia with his debut novel ‘A castrate from Ontario’.
On Friday, 13 April, the young writers are shown the city of Pécs in the hope that the visit inspires the participants to write a short story or essay based on the impressions from the visit.
On Saturday, 14 April follows the presentation of debut novelists at the main hall of the Budapest Convention Centre (1-3 Jagelló Street).
Excerpts from Afanasjev’s novel have been translated into Hungarian and English by Réka Putnoky and Eric Dickens and appear in print in the festival publication and in the literature magazine 'Magyar Lettre'.
