This autumn, the Estonian Institute in Finland celebrated its anniversary. "The Time of Miracles" is now also available in Estonian bookshops and at the Estonian Institute at Suur-Karja 14, Tallinn.

The anniversary book covers the Institute's years in Finland between 1995 and 2010. It contains several essays published for the first time, related to Estonia and Finland and their relations. The book also lists events organised by the Institute in the course of 15 years.

The book is bilingual. The article section is opened by an introduction of the Estonian President Toomas-Hendrik Ilves, where he briefly introduces the mission and significance of the Estonian Institute in Finland. It is followed by another introduction, by the director of the Estonian Institute, Mart Meri. Jaakko Blomberg, chairman of the Society of the Friends of the Estonian Institute, describes the cooperation between the two institutions. The Estonian press officer at the European Commission, Erkki Bahovski, writes about Estonia's rapid development in recent decades and a possible future scenario. Marju Lauristin and Peeter Vihalemm analyse the transition period and discuss whether Estonia has followed the right path. Economist Erik Terk describes the state of Estonian economy. Writer Jan Kaus reflects on Estonian culture and the era of individualism. Art historian and critic Anu Liivak writes about the current art Estonian landscape as the result of processes that started twenty-five years ago. The author of the last article "Ripples of History" is Kulle Raig, who headed the Estonian Institute in Finland in 1995–1999.
The book was supported by the Society of Friends of the Estonian Institute. It is now available also in Finland – at the Estonian Institute in Helsinki (Sörnäisten rantatie 22); and it soon arrives in Finnish bookshops. In addition, the book is sold at the internet shop of the Estonian Societies in Finland (
